I'll be there with bells on- literally. ^^
I've entered the AMV contest and am working on something for the Fanfiction contest as well. My costumes are driving me nuts, and I'm part of a dance troupe that has a concert slot on Sunday- therefore having practices eat up all my time. DOOM.
As for actual accomidation tips, well, the Renaissense is already booked solid, so try the Park Plaza- its cheaper too. ^^ Try to room with a friend if you can, or check the boards here or on AN's forum for anyone looking for a roomate.
I'm not sure what else you mean by tips. Is this your first con? And where in Canada are you coming from?

Aniem north is one of the biggest Cons in canada, it's also one of the best, what you'd like to avoid if your into cons for more then just the dealers room is the Toronto Anime Con. If you don't care and just want to buy stuff, then that con's ok too.

But honestly, ithis is going to be my first time going to AN, so i'm looking forward to it ... too bad i won't have any actual money though.

Methinks I'll skip it, and just go to BUY-2-GET-1-FREE at my happy anime store....To go to AN I'm currently lacking transportation and company.... :(
