That sounds cool, but I doubt my parents will go for that. Whether they like the anime or not, I'm still wasting my time that should be spent studiying (like I am now ) It's less anime than the fact that I'm not doing something productive they protest to. Anime just happens to be a convenient outlet to blame it on.Fungie½ wrote:I'm 15, and my mom was just like that, too. She didn't like me watching anime at all, and I didn't dare ask her about a convention. It took a couple more tries but we went to Shoujocon together, and she had a blast. I also started showing her anime (she has some favorites, Hoshi no Koe and Kenji's Spring being the top), and it's cool. Of course, there is that whole money aspect which isn't cool. At all. But it works out. Just give it time.

"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

I feel for you.
Stay cool and just stick with some of the tamer stuff for now. When you are old enough, your parents will eventually trust you to make your own decisions about what to watch.

On that note, you should never show someone who is devoutly religious Neon Genesis Evangelion, which is based on certain passages of the Bible, the Koran, and the Dead Sea Scrolls -- which has earned it both a masterpiece status and being labelled the most blasphemous series ever conceived of.Kazutaka wrote:As I grew up in a deeply religious family/household I feel for you.
