What conventions

Post by Black Stormraven » Wed Apr 04, 2007 1:21 pm

I'm new to the whole con thing and will be going to my first this June (AMA) and want to attend more, but I'm also planning on being farther up the East Coast later this year and for the next few years. Can anyone tell me what are some of the conventions that are usually held on the upper- to mid-East Coast of the States? I've tried looking but I'm not sure I'm searching for the right key terms. Thanks for your help.

If you searched, how did you not manage to find Otakon (Baltimore, MD)?

Also, try AnimeNEXT (Secaucus, NJ, just outside NYC).

Those are all (mostly?) first year cons, it appears. I wouldn't call them "good" quite yet.

For *actual* good cons in the Northeast, check out Anime Boston, Connecticon, Bakuretsucon, Another Anime Con, and if you feel like going REALLY north, PortConMaine.

Matsuri & Miyacon at the only 1st year ones up there, so I wouldn't say "mostly". What one considers "good" is in the eyes of the beholder; great to have your own opinion, eh? ^-^

A nifty site for lookin up upcoming cons and planning how to get to them is "Caffeinated Lifestyle" ~> http://www.caffeinatedlifestyle.com/portal/index.php

Or http://www.animecons.com <- it tends to have a lot of detailed info.
