So what exactly do you do for an AMV Iron Chef Cook Off? Is an anime or song announced and you have so much time to make a video with it?
Within the context of Ushicon, we all went to Wonka/Beowulf's house and 2 of us brought computers (MJ and Machine). That gave a total of 4 computers. There were 9 editors (I stayed out to make it an even 8 ) and 4 of us could edit at a time (two 1:1 matches). The remaining 5 editors were judges and would choose the song while the contestants could choose any anime within Wonka/Beo's collection. The editors are given 1.5 hours (not including ripping DVDs and final renders) to edit what they can. The remaining 5 editors judge the 1:1 battles. Make sense?
Would notebooks help? I am thinking of bringing mine. Or does it have to be a PC
I'm thinking about doing the same thing since I am gonna buy a notebook in about a month or so. However, I do think it'll be a bit more difficult editing on a tiny screen with a crappy mouse (although I could buy a mouse). I think I'd miss my uber-computer to much. Maybe I'll be dumb and bring that along with my LCD :(.

...but also extremely stressful. You should've seen the 8 of them editing. I have never heard curse words used that way (in a not-making-sense sort of way). I am very glad that I passed (since I was already becoming sick...which I still am after a week :( )

I am a bit frustrated though since the song Jonathan (Adiamante) and BigDave got was a good one and I think if I did participate it would've been against Jonathan. Maybe I'll make a video to that song anyway...a real music video :P

Looks like Ushicon might be known for its little IRON CHEF square off with multiple editors.

Will the Wonka Casa be big enough to hold all of us?

I doubt the con would give us any room.

ph34r the buffer! :D

Mi casa es su casa :)

It was alot of fun. Perhaps Ushi will donate a room to us next year, as I think we made a good impression on them at the Expo and at the advanced amv panel. If not, my house it is.

Im not sure, but I dont think we are gonna Iron Chef at Akon, as the only people who live in Dallas are MJ and Bige Dave, so computer transportation may be a bit more difficult, but we will see.

What Im disstressed about is the appearence of so many org memebers who said they attended Ushi, but I never met :(

I agree. I think they quite enjoyed our company and entertainment and hopefully it will be enough to get a round for 2 hours or so for the competition. I mean it won't AWA in terms of audience or organization, but I'm sure a few people would watch and it'd be nice to have more room. We'll see next year!

P.S. Willem - I think Brad (AtomX) wants to do an Iron Chef some time soon...possibly you, me, Brad and your brother. <shrug>

Yea what was the deal with that? I only ran into Non-Professional a few times and chatted with him but I think he was scared away by J-bone because of the whole EK/Account Hi-Jack thing.

Who else was there? :?
