Here is an idea. (it may be a logistical nightmare though)
How about each studio selects 3 members to compete. On the day of the event, both studios are assigned the same song to edit to. The song is then split into 3 parts, and each group decides on who edits what part. Each members is allowed to use whatever sources that he/she wants. After 1 hour has passed, each group gets 10 minutes to render their tracks, and another 30 minutes to combine their tracks and render the full video. This idea would require each member to bring his/ her own editing rig though (with his/ her footage already prepared). Since no one will know the song till the day of the event, everyone is gonna have to bring a lot of footage that they can be flexible with.


Edit: Would it be even more of a logistical nightmare to add in CDV as well (if they wanted to compete)?
