Ok yeah!
And saying you were close to iserlohn isn't very descriptive (for future refference) cause it seemed like everyone was, lol.
Except me, I'm not cool enought to be with you guys, I suck, lol.

Just look for the guy dressed as a pimp with "Pimp Gendo" on back of his costume. Try around the LARP some time. And if I make the contest you KNOW I'll be at he contest dressed like that (just to see the look on peoples faces when they realise the same character in my AMV is sitting next to them, lol!)

While we're on the subject, is it just me or are there no schedules up about what's happening when? Is this normal? :? I kind of want to know when things start happening on Friday, and since my traveling companions aren't going for all three days, we'd like to know which day(s) to choose.

So, like... time runs short. Is it common to not post any time/date info at all?

No Otakon schedules have been posted yet. This is very much normal, as the Otakon schedule isn't posted until at least two weeks before the con actually happens. However, considering the last two years at Otakon, I have a feeling that the first showing of the AMV contest will start around 12:30-1:00 PM and the Friday double feature known as Mystery Anime Theater 3000 and the second (and main) showing of the AMV contest starts at 9:00 PM.

Preface: I am not an Otakon staffer.

The scheduled AMV showings are, IIRC, 1PM on Friday and Saturday, and midnight (or after MAT3K, whichever is later) on Friday night. The AMV panel will be 3 hrs long and scheduled for a non-conflicting time (traditionally 10AM Saturday).

According to the Otakon boards, the schedule will go up within two weeks of the con. Before Otakon 2002, it was available only to press and posted 3-4 days in advance. Otakon 2002's schedule went live online about a week before the con to the public. According to Matt, it'll be also about 2 weeks before the con when he gets the list of finalists out. While he may have all the ballots, the man has earned himself a break and some time away from watching the submissions.

And I talked to you, hackerzc, I talked to everyone! I just talked to teknoboy a lot because we communicate regularly online...LJ is a wonderful thing.

Oh, and no cosplay here. It happened once and was a bad idea. I will have the camera of a thousand functions with me, though, and promise not to harrass the cosplayers or insult the singers at karaoke. I *do* want something worth showing the folks at Mega Manga Con, though...

3 hours??? What's all going to happen at the panel to fill all that time?

The smartass answer is "I guess you'll have to come and see for yourself."

The real answer is that usually there's a 2ish hour block of the panelists (seven of 'em! seven!) talking, fielding questions, showing a few videos, etc. Then there's a bit of time for a semi-official gathering (cd swapping, one on one Q&A, etc.), then at the 2:45 or 2:50 point the head of programming will rear his head to tell everyone to get out so they can start setting up the next event in the room.

Okay, thanks for the info. :) I didn't mean to complain; I was just curious (again, I've only been to one con) and eager. Especially eager! 8)
