Kind of a shame that for those all those who entered there is no reserve seating for the contest. If it weren't for us, the event would not be possible. I personally would LOVE if we could all sit together in one area as with all other contests.... So Why does Oktakon no have reserve seating for the creators on Friday night?... In the past, Friday during thje day was no problemn, but this year since it's the first showing and it will be a sellout I figure! I sure hope I (we) get a good seat to watch the videos or else it kind of sucks not being able to see everything and my own video

When people clear out from MAT3K (yeah, some don't stay for the AMV contest), go up and get a better seat. That's what we did last year. Or the year before. Whatever.

Not be able to see? The room is big, the screens are big, the sound is big... You'll be able to see.

Yea, I was there... But this year it may no be that true... AND there are seats that suck since the screen is quite low....

It shouldn't be much harder than Otakon roping off two or three rows and leaving a security staffer there with a list of the finalists to check IDs. If Main Events can fit 6000, they can accomodate 31.

Well...that's my point...It's a shame really... I figure it's probably out of Matt's control anyway... too Bad, The one thing that AnimeExpo does over Otakon for the creators...

Since there isn't reserved seating, what's to stop us from just waiting in line all together, taking seats during the MAT3K, and moving if necessary for the contest? I think we can manage that. :D

Yep, that's pretty much it... TO get good seats, we'll have to lineup about 1 - 2 hours prior to the event though

Typical big-con fare. :) 's all good, if there are a lot of us, I'm sure just waiting in line shouldn't be all THAT bad. Plus, I doubt there's anything else going on at that time that we'd miss.

But...but... We'll have to miss "Cosplay: Hair Design"!!!

Seriously though, I am a bit disappointed I'll have to miss the AnimEigo panel. But given the choice between having a sweet seat for MAT3K and the Contest and that... I'll stand in line. Probably with the Afro on.
