there's also Paracon, which is at Great America. Last year's was mid-october. It's a small convention, and of course run by Paramont which probably doesn't know anything about anime. They had maybe five dealers last year, none of whom actually sold anime or manga, two viewing rooms, one of which was the gigantic imax screen, and a cosplay competions, along with karaoke and the other stuff you usually find at Great America. Like overpriced soda.

But Fanime Con in San Jose will have an ubber AMV event (insert cheap plug here). May 28-31st :)
