Cool. Hopefully I'll see ya there (I'm going to try to be the staffer assigned to the AMV panel, if possible. If not, I'll try to get break time while it's going on).genestarwind21122 wrote:Last year I was on the pannel and I did pretty well for my knowledge. I kinda would like to be on the panel itself, if the other panelists don't mind, though only to give pointers on making AMVs on Macs and only if there are no other Mac users already on the panel (they'd probably be better editors than I am anyway).
I just feel there should be some Mac expertise on the AMV panel because the Anime Boston panel had no one who could answer questions from the Mac users in the crowd.
Don't you generally have to be invited in order to be a panelist?

Fair enough.Scintilla wrote:Well, invited by Otakon staff or whatever AMVers are in charge of the panel, is what I meant, yeah.
That's partially why I posted here. I already know that someone's trying to organize an AMV panel, but I don't know who (though I guess if I pressed for the info, I might have learned). I figured whoever is setting up the panel may read these forums and I wanted to volunteer as a Mac "expert" if they don't have anyone else already.
Still, if Scott A. Melzer is already on the panel, it's all moot anyway.

Last year the pannel consisted of VicBond007, ANTDrakko and me. Some how people couldn't make it and I knew I had some knoweldge and I could have been of some help so I decided to help with the pannel. The pannel last year gave me even more inspiration to create videos. Just being able to help people out with their questions is a great feeling. So yeah I'm looking forward to this year.

I go. I go because it's far enough away to take a long weekend, but not so far away that I have to fuck around with airports. Because I hate airports. Love flying, hate airports.
Anyway, mention the word "cosplay" around me right about now and I will probably have a fit. I finally found one that I can do - Sohma Kagura from Fruits Basket, post-transformation, smartasses - in the mint-green dress from her first appearance in the anime. Flat-heeled tan boots are a bitch to find, let me tell you. I'm also commissioning a Rose Bride Kozue from Utena and 3/4 of the Kougaiji posse from Saiyuki (they're missing Dokugakuji). NOW you see why I am having fits.
...anyway, I'll probably be Kagurafied on Saturday, since I'm there the whole day. If you see Jabba the Hutt dressed as Sohma Kagura, say hello. I will be Everyday Me the other two days. If you see Jabba the Hutt in prepster-nerd clothes, say hello.
I maintain that cons are fun if you let them be fun. And that is why I go to Otakon. The end.

I think you are refering to the "AMV" workshop rather than the panel... The panel was different from the workshop and has been around for quite some years now... The Workshop was new and was more on the technical aspects of making itgenestarwind21122 wrote:Last year the pannel consisted of VicBond007, ANTDrakko and me.
