The first computer I ever owned (and the first computer I ever used, though they were different computers) used a cassette tape deck to save and load programs. Eventually you could buy a 5 1/4" floppy drive for it (back when 'floppy disc' actually meant it was, well, floppy) for several hundred dollars (and early 80's dollars at that...).

I didn't really start actually downloading AMVs until the beginning of the high-speed era- up until then, I primarily got mine on the tail-end of fansub tapes when the fansubbers would put them on there, or when I could get a copy of the contest discs from the few cons that had AMV contests.

Aw, crap... the belt loop on my onion just broke.... :P

Man the days of downloading a 50 mb mpeg on 56k or slower... hehe or better uploading that same file... nothing like uploading a file for 2 or 3 days. And it wasn't a matter of getting faster internet... there was no high speed option in those days.

I never edited on two vcr's though...

Hawaii or MDenny - I can't remember his exact name but it was called Hawaii's server at the time.

Man all the AMVs I downloaded on my crap 56k modem.

Lets not go there, I don't think the quality of hip in this room can handle that right now.
This will make it all better

Naw, I'm not that old (though I know some are ).

After all, I never used (or saw, in any capacity beyond, "Look at this piece of computing history") a punch card or a computer that used them as input.

Because it's not like the majority of us won't be back in random hotel rooms reeking havoc and mayhem afterward.

Or better yet: Develop a very nasty cough around 8:30, and that give you 3 days to "recover"
