It's a shame really.... I hope they do try and do it again, organize better, I really want a con to go to this time of year that's not run by God aweful Hobbystar.
Agreed, dispite being unorganized and horribly failing their tiny little AMV comp put CN to shame as far as technical and presentation aspects... not to mention actually delivering on the prizes.Fall_Child42 wrote:azulmagia wrote: I doubt there will be a Con no Debacle the Second...

I only remember an asian guy in a dark green t-shirt eating his noodles... The only dealer i remember there was Uncle Sam (Glomping guy)azulmagia wrote:You mean the ones selling the live-action Sailor Moon DVDs, fronted by a blonde who looks like...well I don't want to say anything libellous, so I'll just say "past her prime"? They seem to be at quite a few conventions...Mr.Panda wrote:I got what i needed on friday (Gankutsuou Vol 1 DVD Box)
umm, the only things i found funny about the con was that one of the dealers was selling bootleg dvds, and that every room had the sign "Con no Baka: Anime Convention"
I was actually looking specifically for Sailor Moon R DVDs, but there was a distinct lack of Sailor Moon stuff. I would have bought Petite Cosette, but Princess Tutu was five bucks cheaper so I got that.
The AMV screening room had like, 20 or so people in it, tops. The con was very unattended, which is weird, because I thought it was advertised enough.
I doubt there will be a Con no Debacle the Second...
um, yeah...Anonymous wrote:Con no Baka: the first = the last.
Rip off.
Unprofessional.
Unethical.
Truly, it lived up to its name.
HAHA, you guys still didn't get your prizes? Man has this revenge part and blaming us gone way too farmikestrife wrote:Agreed, dispite being unorganized and horribly failing their tiny little AMV comp put CN to shame as far as technical and presentation aspects... not to mention actually delivering on the prizes.Fall_Child42 wrote:azulmagia wrote: I doubt there will be a Con no Debacle the Second...

The actual convention site says Nov.25-27. Perhaps anime-cons.com changed it to 25-26 after hearing about the Sunday cancellation.Dark_Tiger wrote:Okay, is it somehow possible that only I read the dates for the con? IT WAS A TWO DAY CON, THEY DIDN'T CLOSE EARLY!
I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to here, but just to clarify and ensure that this isn't the last word on the subject: Maybe you should have checked the OFFICIAL site (http://www.connobaka.com/), which clearly lists prices for all 3 days of the week, and has tentative schedule listing that includes Sunday events. In conclusion: the con was intended to go all weekend, and it didn't work out. I was there, I know. Witnessed it all live as they handed out free manga as compensation at the dance Friday evening. (actually, I was off at Anime Hell while my brother was off snagging me some) :PDark_Tiger wrote:EDIT: I just heard enough reviews to invalidate most of what I wrote, so I killed that bit.
