I think we've had a hard enough time in the past just accurately predicting and getting a count of how many people will be showing up for the reservation- trying to coordinate everything to get people in cars, get directions, and get the reservation correct just seems like a good bit more work when there's a convenient place nearby that has worked so well in the past that we can just walk to. Carabba's isn't exactly a dry restaurant either, at last count they serve alcoholic drinks though obviously they'd have less of a selection than a brew house would.
Besides- I'd think if people wanted to drink that having a place within walking distance would be far preferable to one they'd have to drive back from, eh? Just don't fall off the Bridge of Death

Since I've never been to AWA, I'd like to experience the bridge of death and see if anyone falls off. And I want good food. I don't care if I have to walk a mile for it. I want some good food.

That's all well and good. You're aware that there were around 50 people last year?glissade wrote:between me and my friend dan we could probably carpool 7-8 people a trip

Personally, I like the idea of a large room where I can drink and play pool. I hated that walk back in '03 and I'll hate it again, if memory serves. Was that the same place? Regardless, if the plan is to hit a glorified TGIF's, I'd rather not. The only reason I'm chiming in again is because Ashyukun had some good points regarding my attending.
If this is a gathering dinner for people to socialize, I'd rather not be seperated by small groups in shitty booths. If you all simply want a meal, why organize a large gathering? Why not go our seperate ways? It seems rather pointless, just as it did in '03. Either it's a gathering of a single group, or it's a large group travelling somewhere simply to be split up. It seems illogical. And I'm not crossing that fucking bridge.
Then again, I'll have my car, so I suppose I can do whatever the hell I want.
Oh, also, what are the price areas for these places? Some people may not be able to afford a $25 dinner and $8 cocktails.

The restaraunt officially closes about ten minutes after we get there, so we have the whole restaraunt to ourselves. So if people don't want to socialize, they can sit in their little corner, and if they do want to socialize, then they just get up and walk around to another booth.Nightowl wrote:Personally, I like the idea of a large room where I can drink and play pool. I really don't see any difference between the seating arrangements of both places. I mean, it's not like the new place has one bigass table everyone can shake some mead on.

All right everyone, I have a roughly 31 headcount. Is anyone bringing a friend?
How many nameless bodies should I add?
I'm planning on calling Carabba's ASAP, unless there's some dramatic outcry that we go to the other place.
So far there's only been two people who wanted to go.
Just so we're clear, is the dinner 8 or 9? I guess I'll go look up when Carabba's closes and base it on that right now...
Edit: It's 9pm, and the restaraunt closes at 10pm, but we can stay until 11pm, as per Red Wolf's history.
