Hello everyone. My name is Erik Norelus {kireblue}, and I am the assistant director of Momocon's AMV department. Momocon 2012 (March 16-18 2012) will be the con's 8th year in operation, and we are deciding to make Dinosaurs the theme this year

Unlike previous years, the convention will not be held at Georgia tech. We have moved to the much bigger Mariott Marque Hotel in downtown Atlanta. In addition to the larger space, Momocon has also extended its con hours and become a 3 day convention. This will also be the first year where MomoCon is not a free convention.
Like last year, I will doing a LIVE broadcast of 2 different AMV events that will happen on Sunday and Sunday (one of which is the A-M-V.org Viewers choice awards).
Momocon's LIVE AMV Exhibition
We will be holding our 3nd Annual AMV Exhibition with the purpose of showcasing brand new AMVs to Momocon's 11,000+ attendees. If you are interested in entering, the general rules and guidelines for the exhibition can be found here: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/forum/v ... 7&start=15
The submission deadline for the AMV Exhibition is March 4th 2012, and you can view it live on March 17th from 3-5pm here: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/amvs-momocon
AMV Arena
Once again, Momocon will be holding a AMV "Iron Chef" competition called AMV Arena that will put up to 2 AMV editors against each other, and give them 2 hours to produce the best AMV. Each editor will be limited to a predetermined selection of anime source, but choice of audio will be completely up to the individual. Since I won the competion last year, I will be competing once again. This time, my opponent will be "Addy" AMV4000
AMV 101 & Workshop
As the name suggests, the goal of the panel will be to teach the audience the basics of starting a AMV, editing, rendering, and distributing it. The 101 panel is scheduled to be on Saturday (March 17th) from 1pm to 3:00pm, and hosted by Pixel Blended Studios. The AMV Workshop will be a hands on experience where the members of CBR (Chaotic Bad Raptor) teach you how to make your very first AMV.
A-M-V.org VCAs (LIVE Broadcast)
Just like last year, I have scheduled a 2hr programing block to showcase all the winning videos of the VCAs to MomoCon's 11,000+ attendees, and broadcast them via UStream. So if you want to see a live audience reaction to the winners, here is your chance. You will be able to watch it LIVE (March 18th from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM EDT) by clicking on the following link:

Programing blocks include: Character Profile, Action, Fun and Dance, Comedy, M@D hour, Pony MVs, MEP Showcase, AMV Overnight, Technical, Drama & Romance, Trailer and Parody, A-M-V.org 2011 Viewers Choice Awards, and Con Favorites.
