Megacon winners

Post by MarquesMan » Tue Mar 23, 2004 8:44 pm

Hey everybody. I was just wondering if anyone knew which AMVs won and/or was shown at Megacon this year. I sent them a couple videos but I don't know if they were shown or not since I wasn't able to go. I sent a FLCL video set to Queens of the Stone Age: Quick and to the Pointless, and I sent a video for Akira set to the Dark City theme. Any help would be much appreciated.

You can find those and my other videos here:

Man! Unfortunately, neither of your videos were shown during the actual contest showing. I can't believe that your Quick and the Pointless video didn't make the cut, I love that video! I'm guessing because Snackypants didn't like the quality of the footage, so he didn't put it in. I felt that there were quite a few videos that, while the footage quality was higher, lacked the content and coherency that yours has. I would definitely reccomend picking up the DVDs and remastering that video.

That kind of sucks but no biggie. I'm glad you liked it. I wish I could get a higher quality but my capture device can only do 320x240 max. I didn't know that that was all it could do at the time I bought it (plus I couldn't afford anything better) so I'll just have to save up for something better. I'm still relatively new to the AMV scene so I'm still not aware of the best things to use. Anyway, I'll be sending my videos to Metrocon this year too and I'll actually be there. They showed my 1st video (the Di Gi Charat one) last year so hopefully I 'll get in this year too.
