AnimeNEXT, anyone?

Post by MeriC » Mon Oct 07, 2002 11:56 pm

This weekend (Oct. 11-13) in Secaucus, NJ (only a few minutes away from NYC, peeps!) is AnimeNEXT (http://www.animenext.org/), the first year of this con's existence. I was just wondering if anyone from the nearby NY/NJ/CT/PA area would be attending this con. I can safely say that our group from the Princeton area will be going (this being myself, VegettoEX, Scott Melzer, Jon Miller. Hey Mike W., are you coming with us?). So howsabout it? Anyone up for yet *another* con? I'm still recovering from AWA, but... I figure hell, it's just a few minutes away, why not? If you plan on going, say something, and hopefully we can arrange some kind of get-together. :)

If anyone sees Steve Pearl there (the website says he is a guest), could they remind him that he's still the moderator of the AMV ML, and since he's gone AWOL, no administrative functions can be done on the ML?

(He created the ML to the best of my knowledge... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/amv/ )

Steve Pearl is a Rutgers alumni... as such, I seem him every so often hanging out at the JCA (basically, our anime / culture club). He's the one who also handled my pre-registration, so yeah, I see him. However, I had no idea he modded the AMV ML! Hell, I didn't even know he had anything to *do* with AMVs. He's never mentioned it before. But, he's certainly not AWOL in real life, so I dunno what's up with that. I'll certainly bring it up to him next time I see him (or e-mail him, since he seems like he'd be more likely to reply to that than react or do anything about it in person).

Please ask him about it. I tried emailing, but got no reply from amv-owner@yahoogroups.com and didn't know Steve's current email address. (I might have sent mail to an old account of his or something)

Here's the way old AMV ML announcement:
http://groups.google.ca/groups?q=steve+ ... net&rnum=1
The page URL in the message doesn't work now, but as I recall it pointed to the eGroups (now Yahoo Groups) ML. I figured he created it.

Thanks.

Hey Meri. Unfortunately, I can't go. For some reason Secaucus is just too far away on such short notice. ::sigh::
