First AMV - Bleach, Aizen, Linkin Park
That title pretty much sums it up...here's the link:

I could have timed the "shut up" and blood effects better and I might have slowed down the vid too many times to fit the song, but please tell me what else I need to build on...

ok i tried for a while to search u up on this website and i couldnt find you or your amv. I saw it on the other website you posted at this forum, so im just going to go ahead and op it. Since you want to know what to improve on then let me just concentrate on the bad stuff.
Before I begin, I want to ask you, is this your first amv? Whether it is or it isnt you sure have a long way to go because your amv has all the makings of a noobish amv.
1) Ok, first and foremost, if any hasnt told you yet then I'm gonna tell you, NO SUBTITLES!!! If you want a reason then the sweet and short suddle reason (thats not bitchy or complaining) is its just distracting. Yea thats right, it sounds stupid and I thought it was only a superstition at first but when viewers watch these videos and see subtitles, they pay more attention to the subtitles itself instead of the video.
2) This sort of goes hand and hand with #1, NO DOWNLOADED FOOTAGE. If the first 2 were a crime in the amv universe, then you would be on the top most wanted list. lol (just tryin to add some humor). Basically it looks bad, and you get them damn subtitles which seem impossible to get rid of. You see it does go hand in hand with #1
3) Almost (should say near to none) beat sync what so ever. You said word for word "I might have slowed down the vid too many times to fit the song" and I ask you why? Why did you slow it down at all. The key to editing is syncing with the beats. There were pretty fast beats in this song so slowing the video down, especially for the frequency and rate that you did, would make no sense. Makes the video boring because hard core music is happening but nothing interesting is occuring. It says here at the website that a good editor tries to sync every beat in there video.
4) Another editing mistake, you let scenes run off too long. Try to change scenes at a regular pace.
5) Originality: Now you used a way overused band, to a way overused song, to a way overused anime and created a disappointment. Its ok, trust me on this, We all have the disappointment AMV's. Now let me explain. Linkin Park AMV's are considered noobish and crappy because lots of noobs (no offense, its funny because my first one was a LP Song too how ironic) who dont know what they are doing continue to use Linkin Park. Personally I couldnt care less how overused something is, to me if you can set it apart from all the other volume of crap then thats the important part. You created another one of those bad amv's that people get sick of, and with time just fade away. If you make others, then you will see that people always want something fresh and new. In fact, some of them will give your video crappy scores regardless if you did good on it just because its unoriginal. You should make what you want, but do it better ok.
6) This is just my personal spin on things, but try to have an overall theme if you can. Sensless violence is good (at times), but the video becomes so much better if there is an overall point to it.
I like you messed up bad on my first try. I've only recently finished my second one and for the most part, people seemed to enjoy it. My advice to you is to continue other peoples opinions, watching tons of other amv's, and most importantly keep on trying.
Here you go, I gave you lots of useful tips (may sound harsh but its the way to learn) so go ahead and op my second amv and tell me what you think ok.

I already said before that it was my first AMV...and the reason for choosing one step closer is only because of an AU Bleach fanfic series I wrote on fanfiction.net (Los Tres Grandes).
I dont get the problem with the subs, they were SUPPOSED to match the lyrics, like when he says "all these words they make no sense" and aizen says "admiration is the furthest thing from comprehension"...so for brief instances like that I PREFERRED to have the subs because then the clip would make more sense.
Everything else is taken, except for when you say it's completely off sync, which if you're on the veoh.com version makes no sense to me, because the high-octane parts do match their clips IMO, unless things like the clip I used during "I've found bliss in ignorance" is too obscure of a connection for you (and most others) to pick up. I've re-watched the vid and had friends look at it and they have told me that the one thing I did best was synching the clips, yeah the slowdown wasn't great but it was only used during "slow" sequences.
And the theme was just showing off Aizen's greatness...I even stated it in the beginning with "Aizen Tribute"

Haven't watched the video, don't plan to, but subs are almost never a good thing. When you watch AMVs, are you watching it to READ, or watching it to WATCH?shwin wrote:I dont get the problem with the subs, they were SUPPOSED to match the lyrics, like when he says "all these words they make no sense" and aizen says "admiration is the furthest thing from comprehension"...so for brief instances like that I PREFERRED to have the subs because then the clip would make more sense.

So buy the R2s.shwin wrote:No, I'm referring to just those two instances in the AMV where subs made sense, the others were because I couldn't get any raw footage. I live in the U.S.A. so I can't exactly turn on the TV and capture bleach eps....
