d2v problems

Post by CJBrown » Tue May 29, 2007 12:10 am

i'm having a huge problem getting my d2v files to load into virtualdubmod. I get the error "Unreconized exception". I have done the trouble shoot problems that this site offers in the guides.

uninstalled AMVapp twice, and still have the same ishue. If anyone knows of any other ways please help out.

Thanks

I forget has I haven't done this in a long time, but don't you have to copy an mpeg dll file to the VDubMod folder, somewhere? I vaguely recall doing this...

crap, maybe someone who's drunk less diet soda than me can remember??

Make sure that if you've installed the AMVapp AND upgraded/replaced your AviSynth or DGMPEGDec that the DGIndex.exe and DGDecode.dll files are the same version. DGDecode.dll should be in the default AviSynth plugin folder C:\Program Files\AviSynth 2.5\plugins. If you find a mpeg2dec.dll or mpeg2dec3.dll file, remove or rename the file, it shouldn't be there unless you are using an older filter (DVD2AVI, etc.)
EADFAG wrote:4) I get an "Unrecognized Exception" error. Oh dear - I thought we'd seen the last of these. This error appears when either the avisynth or DGDecode.dll finds a problem with processing the source but it's a problem that hasn't had an error code written for it. This can mean anything and if it is happening on the AppTests then it's not good. Make sure the Version test is correct and the Avisynth Filters have been installed correctly. Also double-check to see if your Avisynth 'Plugins' directory - there should be a file called DGDecode.dll and NO files called mpeg2dec.dll or mpeg2dec3.dll etc. In the 'Plugins' directory there may be versions of these files but that is fine - subdir files should not affect the plugin autoloading.
