AMV RSS

Post by Lazarus Ledd » Tue May 29, 2007 1:02 pm

I'm sick of people that dislike my amv or any other amv.

When I make one I make it for the fans of the anime and fans of the music band featured in the amv.

I'd like a new feature created (script). Every time a AMV is released it sends a notice of the music band or song and the notice of the anime featured in the amv to those people that like that anime or the music.
From one side there should be a script and from our side, we should choose which bands/anime we like so we could be noticed when the related content is released
I'd just like more encouragement for the folk from the ones that appreciate the media used in craftin an AMV.

And I know, I know that it's all about understanding am I hidden inside your beautiful soul as it's crying for love to conquer the day slowly dawning, I want you to know you're the heart of my temple of thought."

Better yet, why don't you make friends with all the fans, then when you make a new AMV you can just send it to them without even having to upload it. :)
Come on, get over it. Yes, I make my vids for fans too, but I still like feedback from others on it, and I watch a lot of vids with anime I don't know and still give them feedback.
Though, this isn't for that. You just want to toot your own horn as easily as possible and you figure that if only the fans watch it, you'll get nothing but good feedback.
You'll NEVER get ALL good feedback, learn to deal with it.

Well, a good first step would be for people to use the AMV alerts feature to mark the editors whose work they're more likely to like.

Otherwise, eh... I'm skeptical many people will take advantage of this, same as with AMV alerts. Would I love to be alerted any time a video is released to my top favorite bands? Heck yes! But I'm not sure most people will care enough to mark it up. Let's face it, people are far more likely to use Super Search to look for specific things they like.

Anyway, I think it's a fact of life in creative hobbies: you have to learn to accept feedback from people who don't share your tastes, and all sorts of other unfair criticism. I'm not sure you'll get very far if you try to restrict your circle of viewers so much, people can like something without expecting it. I've always said I make videos for a limited audience - but not so specifically limited. While I think more improvements to the 'Fan Management' system (of which AMV Alerts are part of) are always welcome, I don't think locking yourself up in a narrow-interest-box is a good solution.

but at the same time not all videos to your favorite bands are "good", so someone might get an alert and be all angry cause the video wasnt good... and therefore you will still get negative feedback...

sometimes people download videos to songs they dont know (perhaps they like the anime), and it isnt till they see the video that they realize its a song they dont like... likewise for anime...

then theres the thing about all the "extra names" in the database (likin park, lincoln park, *=cascada=*) because
1. people cant spell and
2. people like to add stupid "internet flourishes" to the band titles....
(though i must admit i have noticed quite a bit of "cleaning up" lately, and its appreciated)

I agree with oto, start setting up your amv alerts for the editors you like and let it build from there... O.o

Here's what you can do about that:

A)Become a hermit
B)Stop making and watching AMVs
C)Destroy the internet
D)Waste thousands of dollars worth of therapy to learn how to supress your negative emotions
E)STFU and deal with it.

The world isn't made of sugar and lollipops, and you'll have to learn to deal with negative feedback, son.
