Aaaaand now it's out in English too, in fansub. Agreed on the pros, but the cons?! If they're disappointed in that, they're idiots. If you take out the fact that the manga goes on after that, by itself, that ending reads as the classic "you see exactly where it's going, no need to spell it out" ending. ;P I mean, really. That ending was cheesy-romantic as hell. What do you want, onscreen boinking? Please.

Anyway.

Anyone who's read the manga - how far does the anime overlap it? I think I'll pull a Fruits Basket and take up reading the manga where the anime leaves off. I'd read the first couple of books, but they were so similar that I didn't feel like continuing till the anime ended. Now I'd like to skip a few and pick it back up with new-to-me stuff. Anyone know?

yea, actually, I think u should back up some b/c the anime didn't show the part where Haruhi's grades slipped and stuff

also there is a couple of one shots (not ouran hshc but another pair of twins that may or may not appear later on in the series) in some of the earlier volumes that you might find fun

I'm still between Tamaki x Haruhi, or Kaoru x Haruhi x Hikaru.
Dunno wich one to choose, I like all three

But, why do you think it's disappointing? O_o

Nah, it's a good wrap up in my opinion. It's a tad predictable, but for the better part of the show, it's been a fun ride. Definitely one of the highlights this anime season. Now there's only one thing left that is on my weekly, "must see" list, that being Nana... good thing that ain't ending so soon

Back up to where is my question. I have no idea where the anime leaves off. I only read books 1-3, and that barely cracked the first half-dozen episodes of the anime.

I really thought Mori would get an episode to himself after the comment made at the beginning of one of the later episodes, since everyone else gets at least one. Maybe the number of Hikaru/Kaoru episodes was some sort of experiment to see how far they could go (are they like this in the manga)? I would have liked more small children pointing them out, because it cracks me up how nobody in the entire universe seems to care what they're doing.

So any word on the licensing/english version? I've only seen the first 2 episodes and that was late last year. I saw Haruhi on the same day and thats already out. Hopefully host club gets a release soon.

It probably will get licensed sooner or later, it's popular enough here and in Japan. My bet is on Geneon getting it and if not them it will probably be Viz.
