The footage going in is good, when it comes out of premiere it is fuzzy, but when I put it back into virtualdub 1.6.17, it gets really good quality, but then when I save out of virtualdub, it is fuzzy again, mostly what I'm looking is how to make it look as good as it does when it is playing in virtualdub.

I'm just not sure how to keep the good footage I see in virtualdub.

The XVid was a good idea, it got the size down really well. I'm still gonna play around with it. I'll entertain anymore suggestions of course.

Why are you exporting uncompressed? You should be using a lossless codec like lagarith or huffyuv, and why are you using DV settings with 720x480? What's your aspect ratio supposed to be?

I'm trying to enter the video into a contest and those were the settings they told us to use. I've cleaned up a lot of it so it looks much better now. I'd still love to know why virtualdub makes it look so good before exporting.

Are you saving an XviD file from VDub? If so, what are the settings?

That's your pixel aspect ratio (which for AMVs should be 1.0 anyhow). What is your video aspect ratio? ie, 4:3, 16:9, 221:100....
