Actually if you read DC comics he deffinitly does. In Crisis on Infinite Earths he was translating for the female Dr. Light until Katana took over.

Superman, I think is supposed to know every major human language still in use today. Cause he's got a supermemory along with all his other powers.

As allies? I HIGHLY doubt it, but if it did occur wouldn't it be more the likes of Bizzaro + Light?

Light would more likely befriend superheroes like Batman or Venom-Spiderman, who are driven by a vengeful impulse and an uncontrollable lust for blood - criminal blood, which is why they're on the right side of the law.
