An interesting thing came up with the directshowsource thingy in AMVApp. I'm just curious if anyone else had experienced similar things.
So, i had really few filters (plugins) in my AviSynth folder, i only used msmooth, awarpsharp and of course directshowsource (it's able to open mp4 files in VdubMod). But i wanted to try out some other filters that i wasn't able to find separately, so i downloaded AMVApp. I did not want to install the codecs and other programs because i have them separately and i like it that way, so i only marked "plugins for Avisynth". It installed (copied) the files with no problems and i managed to use other filters like mftoon contained in the program.
My problem came afterwards, i used directshowsource as usual but when VDubMod opened up the file, there were errors in the video file, namely loose frames, or how should i say, 1 frame that is totally out of place (but no problems with quality) among frames that have their correct place. I've tried out different things to fix this but nothing helped. Than i began to suspect the directshowsource.dll file. I copied all the filters (the plugins folder) to another folder and unistalled AMVApp. After that i copied my backup dlls back, and directshowsource worked fine again. I copied all the AMVApp filters back in the plugins folder, BUT NOT rewriting this older directshowsource.dll . Everything works fine now.
So it might be that the directshowsource.dll file is bad in the AMVApp 2.1 version, or maybe it just acted up on my computer, i don't know, but check it if you have this version, there is a possibility that it was bad.

And the problem is not with AviSynth itself, just with a filter ( i did not install the AviSynth contained in AMVApp).

You should make sure everything is compatible before you start switching out components of AMVapp. Not all versions of all the programs play nice with each other.Kaxi wrote:From here:Keeper of Hellfire wrote:Which AMVApp did you download?
