It reminded me more of this Lain video. It's warped, tongue-in-cheek, and delivered with an almost perfectly straight face.Minion wrote:follows the lead of "failed experiments" and "ordained from above", along with a small handfull of unpopular videos.
so i can't say much for the originality of the idea.

Finally some time for some replies. Thanks everybody for their reactions and their QCs - whether it was positive or not!
But thanks and good luck with your vid!
huh?
Thanks for watching anyway!
1. Techwize there's nothing wrong with it.
2. You little lolicon-perv!
Synching is the easest thing when editing an AMV, because everybody can time scenes on the music given enough time. It's the rest that is hard to do (story telling/built-up/scene selection/flow/etc.).
That's my whole bunch of replies, if I missed a reply, sorry! But still thanks for watching (also people who didn't leave a comment)!
Thanks! The last-part was actually my least favorite part (in the AMV and to do) - It's wasn't that hard (Photoshop to create the outlines, Premiere Pro to put the stuff in together with some resizing and garbage mattes), but still, I was busy whole morning creating that part (about 5 hours) and still don't like the result. Some of the frames are still a bit jerky and in the end, having about 10 AVS-videos on screen at the same time created a very jerky preview and export wouldn't go properly without putting the Memorymax back to 16MB (so if your Premiere is crashing then do that!).post-it wrote:... LOL, what the #*@& was THAT !???? I LOVE IT !!!
the scene's at the end where "the anime was moving within the Borders of the Comic Strip" I've been working-on-that for quite some time now and you've already mastered it!
however, the audio ....

Yeah, too bad the thread is closed (didn't have much time back then), because I still didn't get your point of the thread (so many things were covered there!) and would still like to discuss some further...Koopiskeva wrote:Seems a lotta people missed the point of that thread, cuz I was talking about a small sect of experimental videos, and even then, I never said I didn't like them... I just didn't get their appeal as AMVs.
Some of my friends thought it was Japanese too, but the funny thing was, they only realized it was sung in English when the karaoke-part came up! But seriously, there's more than cheesy J-Pop and Eurobeat coming from Japan - the thing is that you don't really hear that much (like every other good music from any country actually).Tash wrote:only jap song I think I like
Thanks! Glad you "get" that comment!my pony wrote:awesome work. I think your thoughts about the French and Algebra Technique beats were very funny.

Cracky! Thanks for watching the vid and your comments! Even thoughthe idea is done before - like most people say - hope you thought the execution was still somewhat different!CrackTheSky wrote:Bahahaha, that was awesome It's been done before...but I still found this to be quite creative and definitely entertaining.
You honestly did Infinity? Thanks! Soooo.... what did you smoke dude?Infinity Squared wrote:I liked this. I really did. Honestly.

Well, Abunai is one weekend after AWA, so if you could make it then great!Warheart wrote: Well since abunai has a 3 min rule I don't think I'll compete and thus not drop by moreover AWA is on that Weekend so Stephan and Mitch won't be there either, but if they are and I have a video (I need to finish my current one first and then find something under 3 min) I'll be there since my semester starts like a month after the con.
Thanks! Hehehe.. You mean cleavage?Dime_fan3 wrote:Funny stuff, although i'm a little guilty of a couple of the techniques shown .
Yeah, saw those two before, but forgotten about the second one... Thanks for your comments Minion!Minion wrote:follows the lead of "failed experiments" and "ordained from above", along with a small handfull of unpopular videos.

as far as the video itself, awesome work. i thoroughly enjoyed that
Keal_, glad you liked it! Yeah, every contender at the con had to put credits at the end, but hey, glad you found it useful information!Kael_ wrote:Lol, rather special ^^
Credits coming up in 3 seconds
Heh, thanks! Glad you like the video and you could laugh about it! I actually haven't seen any Ichigo Mashimaro video AT ALL, so guess I have to search for some!y00anime wrote:ahaha oh gawd.

great job xD i like this.
good editing. good laughs. good overal
Thanks! Dots? Damn, I knew I forgot something! At least there's multi-sync!aesling wrote:I was amused, good job
However, I think it failed as a technique beat, because it needed MORE DOTS!
Sorry you didn't get your dose of AMV Technique Beat before all the others did! I hope you enjoyed it, even though I am a "friggin jerk" when it comes to releasing vids - everybody knows that! Hope you had a nice weekend anyway!Kitsuner wrote:Oh sure, you put it off for days and weeks, then when I leave the internet for two days, you toss it up. Friggin jerk.
Thanks Yumi!yumi+chan wrote:Cool video, I like your concept^^
I didn't know the avatars came from the op-thread (just saw it recently)! I just thought everybody had suddenly seen Mind Game!Tash wrote:what is with the avatars
having the same dumb opinions and taste wasnt enough?
Really? There's no 3D-stuff in it you know! Thanks anyway!ZephyrStar wrote:THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING VID i HAVE SEEN ever.

Paul! Yeah, I know I what you thought! Thanks for voting at the con! I'll put my other vids up somewhere next week.Paul Kievits wrote:Douggie you know what I think of your video
Thanks! If you laughed - even though it was just a few parts - I feel like I've succeeded! Well, at least for my first attempt at comedy!Bakadeshi wrote:heh, entertaining ;p DId make me laugh a few times, but for the most part more entertaining than funny. pretty much what everyone else said already >.>

Thanks! Editing - or making a video - is quite a work to do! I can't understand your sis thinks it's easy (let her make a vid if she thinks so!)!omegaevolution wrote:the exciting chases and motorcycle parts made me wet my pants , nice way to make someone learn what to do in AMVs, my sis now knows what I have to take in mind when I make mines (she thinks that this is an easy hobbie )
4/5, I'm still impressed that you could synch well and teach at the same time

Thanks! Now can I get a can of tuna?JaddziaDax wrote:this ammused me XD
Thanks! Hope you really learned something while laughing! The Shogun wrote:Lol, that was very insightful made me laugh
Hehe, intelligent comedy! I don't think a lot of people really get the thought behind this AMV, but hey maybe it kicks in when they're editing and think of this AMV! Thanks for your comments Lick!Lick wrote:I was given a sneak peak by Douggie some time ago. I thought the humour was very subversive, images that completely warped the meaning of the text giving it the charm of intelligent comedy. But aside from the bullshit, good stuff!
Thanks! Glad you like the techniques and my techniques!RathiSponge wrote:Very interesting and original. Good editing. Very good job
Hehe, I'll hack yootube when the VCA's come and you'll all vote! Mhahaha! Thanks for watching!Kionon wrote:Somehow, Douggie, I feel like I need to vote for this amv...

Thanks for watching! Yeah, that video was actually my main inspiration (it's written in the link on my AMV-page, but still haven't really finished that). It's one of the 3 videos that REALLY made me laugh. My vid was actually without the comments for the first part, but when I started thinking about what comedy vids I liked I thought I could also make text-boxes to make the scenes funnier by putting semi-serious comments about techniques.Melanchthon wrote:It reminded me more of this Lain video. That's my whole bunch of replies, if I missed a reply, sorry! But still thanks for watching (also people who didn't leave a comment)!
