Wrong because comics are a type of cartoon and they are not animation therefore cartoon cannot be a subtype of animation. Anime is japanese animation, it has its own little special specific name, however few other countries do, well Americans don't usually use separate names for them anyway. In other words it breaks down cartoons incompass comics and animation and animation can include anime, claymation, computer animation or other forms of ani. Sorry to burst yer bubble. Have a nice day everyone. Tootles.

??? Burst my bubble? I didn't know I had a bubble. Anyways, I was only trying to give a vague description that should satisfy everyone on the relationship between anime and cartoons. Remember, there are 2 ways to go about discussing this. The way where we compare the 2 literally, by type and definition, or by what has become common knowledge (not necessarily correct). Sure by definition the Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show is not a cartoon, but when everyone considers it so, why fight it. This doesn't make it right, but you will only make thing more difficult on yourself. We must all learn to comprimise.RogeRgal wrote:Wrong because comics are a type of cartoon and they are not animation therefore cartoon cannot be a subtype of animation. Sorry Jedi I didn't mean to say I would burst yer bubble I was mainly contending Clara. I actually totally agree with your last post common usage of the terms has been greatly missused. Though it rarely upsets me less I hear someone complain about someone who is using the terms correctly.

my point is, it only has a special specific name outside of its home country. its like importing, say, pencils to japan. if they called our pencils (translated:) stupid american sticks, wed get mad. i think calling it anime is wrong, but i still do it cuz its easier than japanimation...my point and only point is that animation=cartoons=anime, animation=comics=manga.

I didn't think japanimation was a word .Chef wrote:my point is, it only has a special specific name outside of its home country. its like importing, say, pencils to japan. if they called our pencils (translated:) stupid american sticks, wed get mad. i think calling it anime is wrong, but i still do it cuz its easier than japanimation...my point and only point is that animation=cartoons=anime, animation=comics=manga.
Unrealistically: This is why we should all stop using languages and use thought shapes. Anyone ever read The Chrysalids? If you haven't then you may not get it. Anyways, psychic powers is the way to go. No more language barriers and misunderstandings.
