Which is used more - Rock or Electronic music?
I was wondering which of the two genres were used more in AMVs?...Although I already have a feeling I know the answer already...I think Electronic music such as Trance and Techno should really not be overlooked just because it's just a bunch of beats and leads and synths...and what other genres do you think are used more?

The phrase 'Electronic music' does incorporate some genres of rock, you know. Genres from that intersection (like Industrial, Alternative Dance, Darkwave/Goth-Industrial, etc.) are what I'd like to see more of, personally. A few of the technical editors do use it, but I think what really deters a lot of people - aside from the fact those genres aren't very visibly mainstream anymore, save for whenever Nine Inch Nails releases a new album - is that it usually has so much going on musically that it's like trying to edit a song with all the elements from both rock and electronic music that are the hardest to synch to properly. Thus the best approach would be to multi-layer the video just like the audio is multi-layered, but like I said only a few editors that routinely use that type of music have the patience and/or stamina to do so.

Like there was any doubt electronica was going to overshadow rock on this site. People will eventually start coming around though. Rock died with Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper. A beautiful 20 year funeral was held in its honor. Electronica has already infiltrated most music. The labels seem to insist upon having it [albeit with shitty mixing] as a method of enhancing the recycled dredges of rock's corpse. Of course, there are still plenty of purists out there, and I don't discard rock's integrity for those who cherish it. But it's obvious that her finest hours have passed, while electronica's has yet to come.
