I couldn't quite make it through Karas, to be honest. Pretty eyecandy only lasts me so long when the story is boring as hell.
But anyway, I'm not sure if I'd call this "one of a million" exactly. It does have something a bit different from other Karas AMVs. Almost every other video uses nothing but the same old action scenes. However, while you did use those too, you also used more of the story-oriented scenes to balance it. Not to mention you synced it well (internal sync during action sequences is one thing, but you kept it up during the story scenes too, so awesome job there). I enjoyed this a lot more than I have most Karas videos. Nice work!

Thanks dj!! Personally, I really enjoyed the first 3 eps of Karas, although I'm still waiting to find out what the point is to it, I hope I don't get disappointed.dj_ultima_the_great wrote:I couldn't quite make it through Karas, to be honest. I tried to synch the thing as best I could, the nice thing is that this song was fairly easy to synch up. As for the storyline, that's what I pretty much heard about most of the other vids; mostly action and no story... which I will address in the replies beneath.
Thanks again, I appreciate it very much!

Ok, I have to admit, my storytelling needs work. I was trying to gather up a kind of ... ...you know what, looking back I don't really know what I was doing.Minion wrote:i really think you could do better, but this was a fun vid none the less. good work
Well, the story was supposed to be: At the beginning, things are looking up but can change so dramatically in such short a time. Yes, I can do better and I will next time.
Make sense? No?
Thanks for the comments.

x2 on what they said, basically. It was a fun video, definitely a keeper, but you could have done some more beat sync, especially because the beat sync you DID do fit really well and matched up. I also felt like the scenes were kinda random, but that seems to be how most Karas videos are so whatever. I give this 4/5; it probably really deserves 3/5 but I enjoyed it a lotMinion wrote:i really think you could do better, but this was a fun vid none the less. good work

This was about a 50/50 in my book. Theres actually one thing that has me very confused, so I'm just going to get this out of the way now....how come you used WMM for the credits? Haha, you ditch powerful software like Adobe Premiere for WMM just to have credits that scroll? *still confused*
Glad I had a mention in the video info, even then I don't really recall what exactly I said in which post...I do appreciate it though. I hope you're talking about me and not some other "N00B" *glances around suspiciously*
Onto the actual AMV itself. First off, I enjoyed it. Don't get me wrong there at all. I did like this; the flow was nice, I liked the song, the editing (while not to complex) was accurate in most parts, except some minor mistakes I saw in beat sync, like hitting on a sound one time around in the song and then it being ignored, or hitting a specific sound with the same effect several times like the black flashing, then missing it later on in the video.
Also I had some issues with some of the slow down effects you used. It made some of the clips seem choppy, and the video lost some flow in those areas. The video quality was great in some areas, not so good in others, but thats to be expected with any source really.
LOVE the uber high quality shot at 2:19
3.5/5

Thanks! I had more beat synch in it but I found that if I changed the scenes too early in the non-action part, it caused some issues with me and storyline (what storyline you say?). So, I thought by alternating the beat synch from 1:4 to 2:4 and 1:3 was one way for me to break up some scenes but then I added a scene change to the lyrics in between. Didn't work well enough though. Randomness; I'll work on that too with my next vid.CrackTheSky wrote: It was a fun video, definitely a keeper, but you could have done some more beat sync, especially because the beat sync you DID do fit really well and matched up. WMM: I've never found a useful function in Premiere's Title features, it could be because I didn't want to take another 3 or 4 hours to make the credits. . Well, personally like some of WMM's credits features, somewhat cheezy but some are neat.N0OB wrote: *entered a lot of good stuff*
As for beat, yes, I was looking to break it apart, I guess you can say that it was deliberate in some places. Although I seemed to have added an extra beat change at a location that there is no beat (1:58), I swear I heard that beat on the headphones back then.
Slowdown effect, yeah, it would have been smoother, I did a mistake when doing the Premiere project and results were blending of the scenes due to fps speed. (more learning) I decided to settle by throwing a Ghosting Effect on top of some.
As for your contribution, I had a problem with the rendered screen being cropped, you mentioned about the actual screen size for Karas, which made me take notes. (note to self, never add an extra VOB file that's not part of the movie in a DGIndex d2v creation, you get the wrong FPS and stream information for the movie) *grr*
Thanks again everyone!
