Yeah I was hoping for some light hearted comedy elements.DaCoolGohan wrote:decent video, kind of funny too 3/5
*ding ding ding*dj_ultima_the_great wrote:Hmm... the title rang a bell the instant I saw it. Took me another minute or two to remember that that was the title of a poem (and an entire book, I think) by Shel Silverstein. I loved his writing when I was younger.
You win...uhm...nothing?
So you too must be old school like me. I remember my elementary school teachers reading them to the class over 20 years ago O_o. It's unfortunate these books are now *banned* at schools : /
I look forward to it. I didn't notice till just now that you live in Wisconsin. I go to school up in Madison, where are you located?dj_ultima_the_great wrote:I'm downloading your video now and I'll get back to you later today with my thoughts. ^_~

and i know he wrote another but i dont remember the name
on the title definitely, after watching it... took me a minute to realize it was a cover... kept thinking "who the hell is this and why do i recognize this song?!?" i think i like this version better >.>
anyways very cute i liked it alot
/goes on the ipodness >.>
Wow so many old schoolers >_>.
Yeah my main hope was that most folks wouldn't recognize the song until the first chorus and then go "OHHHHHHHHHHHHH" and have the light bulb go off or something . Too bad most of the younger folks won't know the original....
Anyway thanks. I was hoping for cute .
What was that? I can't hear you. You're gonna have to speak louder! What?!Reigna wrote:XDdwchang wrote:I also imagine most of you aren't old school enough to know the original version of this song (or get the title of the video)
Nice work, Daniel. It was cool seeing it on the big screen at Otakon, and congrats on the win! Hopefully this means we'll be seeing some more videos from you now on as well...>>
...thanks. Yeah I'm hoping to keep the consistency going, but with going back to school (after an internship) I could see that not happening too >_>. Funny how I have more time when working...
Awesome thanks!Janzki wrote:Good stuff, I liked it.

But yeah, this video totally rocks, dude. I didn't really think Oh My Goddess could fit with the song like that so well(but then again, I've only seen the Ah My Goddess movie)
I certainly recommend watching the OVAs some time and thanks!

I have a small problem over here:
1. I haven't seen the anime.
2. I don't know the song's origin.
3. I have no idea what this Children's Book Series by Shel Silverstein is.
4. The title doesn't ring a bell.
Just how much entertaiment am I missing here? The thing I mostly got something out was that the winner wasn't a typical sappy romance video set to 80's music.

Oh, right. Yeah, I recognize the title. My sister (my little sister, dw, and you have a decent idea of how old I am) was a Silverstein fan years ago. Where the Sidewalk Ends, Falling Up, The Giving Tree, and A Light in the Attic could all be found in my house.
The song rings bells only vaguely. I do remember Boyz II Men, though.
It was a fun video, though. I envy you so much for having good quality AMG footage to work with.

Ah ha! It took me until the chorus kicked in, but I definitely recognized this older Boyz II Men piece. I have to say that the original is WAY better. XD
As for the video... something was strange about it. I'm not sure what, nor do I mean that in a bad way. It was a good kind of strange. It fell somewhere in between all of those sappy-type AMG videos and those comedic romance-type ones. From the title and what you said about it, I was expecting something a lot more serious, but this was a nice surprise. Good editing here.
Sweet OAV video quality, by the way.
