Two questions - Clip-joining and frame size

Post by NoodleBear » Thu Jul 26, 2007 11:40 pm

1. I am looking for a good program to let you join clips together. It is a small project I am doing so I am looking for something with a 30 day trial that lets you merge a lot of clips together. A lot I have found only lets you join a couple at once or only allows a certain duration.

2. The group of clips I have are 576x432, but I have some files that are "letterbox" format, and they have been cropped to have no black letterbox border to make them 576x432, so they are 576x304. Most clip join programs say the videos all need to be the same size, how can I add the border back or make it the same size without stretching the 576x304 out to make it look distorted?

Vegas and Premeire also have like 30-60 day trials O.o both as far as i know are full trials.

but if you just need to join clips together Virtualdub Mod is free and can easily do that with "append segment" >.>

or if youre on a PC theres always windows movie maker Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides to get the highest quality out of it O.o

and as for adding borders to keep from stretching: open the file in virtualdub mod through avisynth with this script:

addborders(0,0,0,0)

and change the numbers to the pixels of borders you want...
(left, top, right, bottom) i believe, though seriously i forget and i could be wrong on the order

After adding borders to the 576x304 and saving them, they're now the same size and types but when I try to append segment in virtualdub I still get a "video streams have different data formats" error and it won't let me do it. I can append with other 576x304 that I changed to 576x432 and I can append with any two that were always 576x432. Is there any way to fix this?
