Hmmm must be Hong Kong subs or something. The main character's name is Monkey D. Luffy. The swordsman is Roronoa Zoro and the chef is Sanji. Lest we forget the great Usopp and Nami. Here's some additional information if you were curious about it.
One Piece:
Author Name: Eiichiro Oda
First published in 1997 by Shueisha Inc., Tokyo.
Currently appear in Shonen Jump
An action/adventure series.
Author Profile:
Eiichiro Oda former assistant of Watsuki Nobuhiko (of a little series called Rurouni Kenshin you may have heard of) prior to his OP debut. Has a passion for drawing animals. looking at each manga introduction picture, unless it's an "Adventure of Buggy" you will most likely see the characters interacting with an animal.
Interesting Info:
The parallels between this and Dragon Ball are amazing. Much like DB, this started as a one-shot comic called only "Romance Dawn" that featured Luffy, but had different characters.
Series:
I could give you more specific info if I actually had my OP TV animation guide and manga with me....but I don't. The manga has currently reached it's 22nd collection volume and with that release, broke all manga sales records, even outshining Slam Dunk. The series stars Monkey D. Luffy and his quest to find Gold Roger's greatest treasure, the One Piece. The story progressively gets more and more intricate with double-crossings and surprising revelations all the way through. Like Dragon Ball I truly enjoy the animation because of how UNIQUE it is. Sure it's almost ugly at times, but at least it looks different than your typical bishounen action adventure. You can tell that Oda sensei was influenced by Disney animations every once in a while. Most specifically in characters like the sea serpent in the beginning who resembles Ursula's pet eels almost a bit too much, and many other characters throughout the series also have a "Dinsey feel", while most display the 'Oda-look'. (ie. ENORMOUS features).
Currently I am WAY behind in my reading of the manga partially because I have no money, and partially because I'm too damn busy to enjoy sitting down and translating it like I do in the summer. It begins as a quest to form a crew which Luffy finally succeeded in doing (after about two years of the comic) and had a five member crew. The most recent member I am not familliar with in name, but it is a...squirell-moose I suppose that (judging from pictures) can become super strong. The most recent MAJOR completion of Luffy's in the television animation was the defeat of Mr. 0/Crocodile and his group. I have NO IDEA WHATSOEVER of what is happening right now and I believe Al might be able to shed some light on that.
And Gum Gum Pisol is Luffy's signature attack.
