Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

First AMV: Mental Armor
This is my first attempt at an AMV and I wouldn't mind some feedback if possible. I put some time in to it and tried to make it overall enjoyable to watch.
Thank you in advance,
Virsoul

Hey, pretty good for a first attempt!
You seriously need to do something with your audio though... First of all you have to compress the audio as well as the video (it was PCM). Oh, and I think your audio levels are quite low... I had to turn my speakers all the way up to hear something.
The video quality was pretty nice, it could use some clean up (ask someone with better avisynth skills thn me for help), but why did you not resize it?
Had you reduced a bit the frame size and compressed the audio, your file would have been much smaller, but don't worry almost everybody did the same mistake once

Grabbed this off the New Vid On The Block thing. Glad you made an announcement thread, I have a lot to say
Very good first video. Very very good. The audio/video quality are both subpar, but the editing is pretty solid. The concept is kinda abstract though...or, maybe not so much abstract, I just don't think you present it in the most concise way. You go off on a bunch of tangents by trying too hard to sync to the lyrics instead of focusing on your proposed concept, but I can still see it there and while it's not entirely original, at least it's something.
Some of the effect work felt a little strained. I think this would have made a nice video without any effects at all, to be honest, but I like that you experimented. You need to work on fading your masks in and out instead of hard cutting them.
All in all, great video. I won't be rewatching it much, because even though I love Radiohead this is probably one of my least favorite songs by them. Still, good stuff, especially for a first video
