Ok, I downloaded a trial version just to see if it would work and well it doesn't. I set my VirtualVCR to "record through total recorder" and no matter what I do I cannot find my capture card for recording sound in the system settings for total recorder. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. The only thing it can find for recording is my digital cam. I set everything else to "through total recorder" but I'm not getting anything at all when I try to capture or even play.

Any ideas?

You don't record audio through Virtual VCR or any other program when using Total Recorder. Use the program itself to record it.

In case you can't get this program to work for ya. You can always use the Windows's own Stereo Mix option in Recording Panel(When you double click on your taskbar's audio icon to get the audio properties) to record every sound made by your computer to record whatever you want. You can even use Jet Audio or any program that can record audio to do that.

I will try to post screencaps if you still couldn't do it :).

Ohh, I think I know what you mean...but when I capture with VirtualVCR there is no audio and if there is no audio preview or play at all. Virtual Dub has it though but when I use it its awfully glitchy. full of popping noises, and static...I get better video results using VVCR.

I tried recording from when I play regular music and it plays and records just fine...but trying to do it while I'm trying to capture just doesn't work at all.

Maybe I need screenies... :?:
