Two things...

1. Yeah, the audio doesn't sound so hot. It's particularly noticeable in anything with acoustic noise or a low, strong beat, such as the intro.

2. LAWLZ, I love how my big, angry Three Days Grace song is the first thing to break the series of sad, slow music in the beginning of the mix. Fuck emo, Yuki and Kyou are pissed! XD

Anyway, I'm not terribly fond of the fadeouts in some of the pieces, but I guess it works. It's tough to mix vocal pieces with all types of variations in style, I know.

Yeah, that's a pretty wide range of music there. lol. Considering what you were given to work with, I think it sounds great. *^_^*

I also like the mix...I didn't hear any problem with the transitions >_>
it just sounds like Andika's music is a little lower quality than everyone else's D: (though that's probably more from her end than kiarrens XD )

ANd like Ingow, I'm also wondering if this was just a 'preview' version. Mp3's should be encoded at 320 kbps for highest quality :3 (regardless if some are of lower quality while mixing, exporting it as 320 keeps quality exactly the same as it went in. If you throw in a 160 kbps and further save the final track as 160, it'll just lower the quality of the already 160 tracks...)

Also...this is more of a question for u_queen about the mix, was there supposed to be more of a pause before my segment? Just cause you made me have 5 seconds of blank space before it >_> (and are you just going to put your end credit music in at the end, rather than having kiarrens mix it?)

Yes, that's a little thing is was thinkig before kiarrens got her fixed computer and I was doing the audio mix :?. But I'm planning to leave the credits separated because the clip begins with the song (and this one begins with fade in).

Loved the mix kiarrens! I'm shocked that my segment is number two, but I'm kind of greatful, too! I'm really excited at how this is going to turn out. ^_^

Oh, and I'm very sorry about your aunt Kiki....

Ingow wrote:I like the mix and transitions (especially the one for my track :p), but the compression feels really hard somehow, 160kbit aren't really high quality, is this just for preview or the final audio track that's gonna be in the MEP in terms of quality?

Though it's really weird that some tracks sound clear as hell and others sound very compressed, did you use some that already were in low quality to begin with?
Used what was sent me, save for one, that I re-edited because the audio was horribly over-saturated (Filter's "Take a Picture"). I did export at 160, that's what I always use for all my AMV projects, but I can re-export at a higher quality if needed, I've got the project file saved.

I've got to say X2 on using a 320kbps mp3.
The minimum I ever use is 192kbps and that's pretty shitty compared to 320kbps.
I had to turn the volume way up for this one and some track just didn't sound health.

Do you want the seperate .wav of my track (not sure if mine was giving you problems or not considerin how old the song is... not to mention it was ripped in the mid 90's)?

Also I got a bit worried about the comment around "all the emo tracks" .. but after listening to it it's fine lol not as much emo as i was expecting and i think there was only 1 song i didn't like (which is a first for me listening to a MEP like this).
good choice of tossing around the songs
i have to admit tho I was a little bored in the middle needed something more upbeat i think to wake the listener up XD but tis still a good job
new banzors in the making :p

This sound any better? Hard limited almost every song, either lowering or amplifying the dB to normalize, and exported to 320. I also removed some of the original filtrations I put on a few of them, since the hard limiting seemed to fix the issues.
(I was really paying a lot more attention to the transitions themselves as opposed to the quality of the music itself the first time around, so this time I did a LOT more work on the normalization and cleaning up the audio, since some of you seemed pretty unhappy with the first one.)
I go by the dB monitor more than by what I actually hear...

Was that version of the audio sent to you to mix? That version was in a beta, where I quickly compressed the audio straight out of vegas to quickly render a beta O.O I have the uncompressed .wav version in my final ( a solid 1411 kbps much better sounding and clear version)...

Aww I'm screwing this whole project up :(

Anyways, I'm on my way home, my aunt's doing better, and I should have the link sent as soon as I walk in the door \o/
