AE 7.0 - Font preview

Post by Bauzi » Tue Sep 04, 2007 7:54 am

Something that bugs me is, that there is no font preview in my AE. =/
There is just a long list with the font names. Nothing more.

I don´t really want to open other programs just to get a preview of the font, so I could choose my fontstyle faster. Uhm... It sucks! Has anybody an idea how I get the preview?

I searched threw the helpfile, but didn´t really found something related to the font preview.

Nope I dont think they have one :\
You gotta open up photoshop or something.

There are a number of programs out there designed to help you manage your fonts on windows, but I would honestly recommend staying away from them. Almost every one I've tried doesn't even work with a large portion of my fonts, and one of them even completely hosed my system.

That´s really dumb. imo it´s not good to make his sentences in Photoshop. You´ll loose all the advantages from AE like all the animating styles -.-'

I guess it´s an ugly AE weakpoint.

uh, what?

all you have to do is type out the font, highlight it, and scroll through the font list, it changes it in real time... 0_o

that means you have to check through hundreds of fonts one at a time.

But you can still find which font you want in photoshop, and then find and use in in after effects, can't you?
So you don't really lose all the advantages of the program..

Yeah it´s true but that´s hell inefficient. I see no reason as customer to open a different program just to get this damn preview. It makes no sense for me.
Ok if After Effects is a 50 bucks program than alright, but it´s for Pros either and costs a lot.
