v.7 with Vista (video problem)
I was happy when adobe premiere pro seemed to install with no problem, but now there's some glitch with the video playback that I can't figure out.
Images, audio and such import fine. And any video clips I import I can do the "preview play" and it WORKS, but when I drag it into my timeline the entire thing is black with garbled static stuff.
Anyone have any ideas? Please?

Have something new to add. This may not be directly a problem with Premiere. I tried creating a DVD through MY DVD 9 (Roxio) and noticed when trying to add the video, most files were X-ed out and non-selectable. The few videos that I WAS able to select, I tried to open in Premiere and drag into the timeline and THEY worked fine.
This is only like 2% of my videos though. I can't figure out which format or why only those few will work. All the videos play just fine on my computer when viewing them. =/ Doe this have anything to do with the codec or what? Has anyone else had this program? Any help or ideas appreciated.

I searched around on here and it seems that 6.5 and earlier have the most problems. And seeing as this problem seems oddly connected to what I can import in MyDVDCreator, I can't say that it's Premiere's fault.
The codecs are anything and everything. I was just testing around to see what videos would actually work. I know one or two of the dozens of avi videos I have seemed to work and an Mpeg3. Only about two of over 100 anime episodes would work, though 1 out of 3 of my music videos/promo videos seem to work.
Thanks for responding

The rule of thumb is that typically, Premiere will not be able to handle most videos compressed with codecs like Xvid and Divx. Try converting the video clips to a lossless codec like huffyuv or lagarith and see if that works. I don't own Vista and I don't plan on upgrading for a LONG time so I don't know how Premiere Pro will work...
(P.S. It's Premiere Pro 1.0. Premiere Pro 7.0 is what the pirated Premiere Pros are called.)
