Reason being is that once the video is over, unless somone has a real interest as to what the contents of it were, they probabily will close the file before it even plays.
I'm more annoyed in intros just because of that fact... :?
Care about the video itself, not what format it's in.

I'd rather watch an outro then an intro just for the fact that I've already given 3 minutes of my time.. whats another 20 seconds. Where as an intro.. *this is garbage* delete! and never watch the video

I don't mind either so long as it isn't ridiculously long. I prefer an "outro" though, or "credits" as us old folks call them.

It just depends on what you want it to be like, and how much you want to piss of the viewer by having a 20 second long intro that booms loud ass metal when the AMV is a sentimental/romance type :|
Lmfao. Reading that was funny. :(

If it's "Credits" then I think it should be at the end, unless the credits flow with the beginning of the video, similar to a lot of movies.

If you think that blanket statement is true, you don't know enough about art to deem anything to be "art."
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

It doesn't really matter, as long as it doesn't take up too much time and has something to do with the video. Take Dude Looks Like a Lady (I'm too lazy to dig up links right now), it uses subtitled footage to introduce and end the video, and it merges quite well with the concept of the video. If you think it'll work, go for it.

But with the democratization of language and the pushing of modern artists to intentionally muddy the waters to make themselves seem more important, everything is art.

I think the best blanket term is everything can be art.

it's entirely subjective, what is art to me may be some logs to you.

A 50 second opener with subtitles = ...auto-delete?
