I'm more annoyed in intros just because of that fact...The Wired Knight wrote:There are no rules really. Though if you want people to watch your intro/outro I'd recomend going for before the video rather than after. Reason being is that once the video is over, unless somone has a real interest as to what the contents of it were, they probabily will close the file before it even plays.

Care about the video itself, not what format it's in.

Lmfao. Reading that was funny.Pas1990 wrote:I don't think there are any "rules" as such for your AMV intro.
It just depends on what you want it to be like, and how much you want to piss of the viewer by having a 20 second long intro that booms loud ass metal when the AMV is a sentimental/romance type
If it's "Credits" then I think it should be at the end, unless the credits flow with the beginning of the video, similar to a lot of movies.

If you think that blanket statement is true, you don't know enough about art to deem anything to be "art."lestheanimesarge wrote:Amvs are art.
"If someone feels the need to 'express' himself or herself with a huge graphical 'singature' that has nothing to do with anything, that person should reevaluate his or her reasons for needing said form of expression, possibly with the help of a licensed mental health practitioner."

It doesn't really matter, as long as it doesn't take up too much time and has something to do with the video. Take Dude Looks Like a Lady (I'm too lazy to dig up links right now), it uses subtitled footage to introduce and end the video, and it merges quite well with the concept of the video. If you think it'll work, go for it.

But with the democratization of language and the pushing of modern artists to intentionally muddy the waters to make themselves seem more important, everything is art.jbone wrote:If you think that blanket statement is true, you don't know enough about art to deem anything to be "art."lestheanimesarge wrote:Amvs are art.

I think the best blanket term is everything can be art.BasharOfTheAges wrote:But with the democratization of language and the pushing of modern artists to intentionally muddy the waters to make themselves seem more important, everything is art.jbone wrote:If you think that blanket statement is true, you don't know enough about art to deem anything to be "art."lestheanimesarge wrote:Amvs are art.
it's entirely subjective, what is art to me may be some logs to you.
