Cyberlink Power Director
What's your take on it? It's the first video editor I've tried (after WMM which I find as crap) and can't stand the fact that I cannot select the scenes I want directly from video but have to let the program detect them. And this takes a shitload of time. I'm getting adobe premiere now, how's that one like? do I have to make the clips I want in a program like virtualdub beforehand like in this case?

you gotta save them as editable file type, you should use a losless codec like Huffy or lagarith to edit with.Kevmasterflashdeluxe wrote:Yes.HDjunkie wrote:do I have to make the clips I want in a program like virtualdub beforehand like in this case?
You can still cut those clips in the program itself, but I prefer saving the clips before.

Well most more professional programs don´t have such a function anymore. You have to cut out the scenes you need by yourself. It´s effort.I want directly from video but have to let the program detect them. And this takes a shitload of time.

so what program do you guys use for making clips? I've tried virtual dub but it's useless because it inserts the last keyframe before the selection I want to save as a clip.
ex:
frame -
keyframe +
video: -----+---------------+-----------
I select to save: --
the program saves: +--
also, can I work in other format than DV or HDV in the workspace? what settings do you use?
thanks for all your help

video playback within program (Adobe Premiere 3.0) runs like crap. anyway to optimise it?
