Vegas rendering problem

Okay, so is it normal for a 4 minute amv to take so long to render? My problem is leading me to believe it isn't. After about 10 minutes, the rendering reaches 1%, then shortly after, usually a couple of minutes, Vegas crashes. This has happened 3 times so far. Any idea of what's going on?

What codecs are your editing footage in? If they are in anything but a lossless codec, you might have your answer.

Yeah, I just found out why. Divx codec. Sorry for the trouble guys.
