Sounds good. I know a few good breweries in the area. Then again, this is Wisconsin and they do love their beer.Illia Sadri wrote:Well let me know if you go. I'm not far away so even if it is tiny or sucks balls we can use it as an excuse to see one another and find something interesting to do in the area.dwchang wrote:I think it's this October. Assuming I've finished my Quals by then, I'll be there. If not, I will be studying .Illia Sadri wrote:really? Daniel... email, aim or call me with details! If it isn't right on top of friggin acen or tekko I might just have to make an appearance.
Keep in mind this is their first year and it'll probably be TINY.
Wisconsin needs more cons, whoes with me?

It Succks
Wisconsin does need more... There is a NO Brand Con in Eau Claire which is far to drive.. There should be one near the Milwaukee area... Were not going to spend like $50 worth of gas just to go to one for one day.. I mean come on..

Alright guys, heads up.
My school's anime club is running a con again in 2008 (planned for Feb 29-Mar 2) called Anime Milwaukee
I guess I'm the webmaster for the con site...which hasn't been made yet
and the amv contest coordinator
I'll be posting more info once I get it...and will post about the contest when I get the website up
I expect to see all you guys there

This thread seems kind of dead, hmm, but I'll respond anyway...well I did go to Geek kon, it was very small...and not just anime. There were probably more RPG and D&D nerds than anime. (Which, totally off-topic, I found a DragonLance pin! Zomg!)
It didn't really deserve to be on CNN like it was...it was still kind of fun though. The only thing that sucked was I entered in the AMV contest, but so few entered that they didn't even give out an award...and the guy running it started dancing when my amv came on, so everyone looked away. However once they realized my amv was actually good it drew their eyes away from him.
Anywho, yeah, Detour's pretty awesome. Wish they had more cons in this area. Don't know if I'd be able to make it to a Milwaukee one or not. I'm thinking about going there for school next year, but who knows. XD
