Deinterlacing?

That's what I have right now, just to downsize the footage I have.

What I need to know is how to deinterlace it, which I'm sure is a relativly simple script, but me being a relativly simple guy, I dunno it.

Also, I remember there being a guide at the .org about changing the settings in Premiere to allow deinterlaced footage or something, if anyone has a link to that.

i just use:
fielddeinterlace()

because its "easy"

FieldDeinterlace() - this is the Avisynth Version of the old virtualdub Smart Deinterlacer. You will want to tweak the thresholds of this manually to fit your source if you use it. The numerous parameters are described in the Decomb 5 Reference Manual. I've never really found this deinterlacer to give me particularly satisfactory results but different sources require different methods so you should experiment. Each source is different so any of these deinterlacers could give the best results.

Also, if I run the scipt now, will it take change in Premiere? (since premiere is using the avs file)

i didn't say it was "perfect for everything ever in the whole wide world and that everyone uses it" :/

and that is why I gave you the guides so you can make a decision on what deinterlacing filter YOU want to use :/

as for switching out the filters, I've no clue if that will work... it SHOULD work.. (I don't edit with premiere nor do i even edit with filters, because I use Vegas and Clips)

you could just go into your already set up filters, and add the line manually - aka open the scripts in notepad and paste the deinterlace line in there and save. (I don't know how many "filters" that would be, but it would be all copy/paste anyways) the effect SHOULD take change...

also make sure you dont have your project set up to interlace, I know I've had that problem in the past... I'm not sure if premiere has the same setting deal as vegas though

Why in the world would you need to deinterlace Lucky Star? I'm assuming this is either a RAW or a fansub as the DVD with episode 16 isn't even out yet. Anyway, there shouldn't be any interlacing in it to take care of. To avoid having to do it later just make sure the editing program is editing in Progressive or No Fields or whatever the option is in whatever editor you're using.

it's a DVD raw, and I always thought that they were interlaced... shows how much I know.

Ok, so I checked. The footage is clearly interlaced, as there are frames merging in with one another, not to mention that when I export it looks like total shit.

Oh well, I'm presuming it has something to do with my project settings, as well as the fact that I've thoughrougly screwed with it thru avisynth

RAWs aren't distributed interlaced, but if your project settings are set to Interlaced, Premierer will interlace your footage.

Also, "DVD RAWs" are a myth. They suck just as much as anything else but RealVideo.

Well, I highly doubt that it's a DVD raw, as the official R2s are only up to episode 8 - 9 & 10 are going to be released on the 26th. Unless of course the order is completely scrambled on the DVDs.
