Once again, Welcome to Windows (and Premiere Pro) in all it's galore.

What codec are you rendering with, and what is the resolution of your footage? If your linear resolutions aren't muliples of 16, some codecs won't work and others will work/not work randomly. Some of them also hate non-standard aspect ratios.

Yeah I've been talking about it with my friend.

My render codec is Indeo video 5.10 and my footage is 1280X720 resized to 640x360.

However, none of that should be an issue since I have already managed ot render scenes. This thing randomly comes and goes. In fact, it dissapeared after I made the post, but it's back now.

My friend asked me to open Windows task manager to check the Performance. I wonder if that's the problem. I have 1gb of RAM but the PF goes up to 1.28gb when I open the project, and 1.38gb when I play it.

Still, I have been fine up til this point. Why now? And is there anyway to fix this in the next 12 hours?

How is your footage you're bringing into Premiere encoded?

I also run into this error out of the blue. One day I'll be editing fine and the next Premiere suddenly decides that it's not OK with it anymore. It will throw tantrums for a few days...and then suddenly quit misbehaving. Whether this is Premiere's fault or my computer's, who knows. Maybe it's a bit of both. Whatever the case, usually I can circumvent the error by reloading my project file and then rendering, though if I want to render again the odds are pretty good that another tantrum will ensue. Your's seems like an even worse situation, though.

Some advice, after you defrag your computer (assuming you haven't already done this):

1. Save a copy of your project and then open that copy in Premiere (to be extra safe, after you've restarted the program).

2. I assume you have auto saves laying around. If step #1 doesn't work, go back to the last save you're pretty confident had no problems rendering and open that up and see what happens. If it seems to behave, make a note of which one it is and try opening you're most recent auto save to see if you can get away with using that file, instead of your "real" project file. If that recent auto save file is bad, start going back through them until you find the most recent one that actually works.

Auto saves have saved my sanity more times than I care to count.

According to the guy down my street who runs a small VHS-to-DVD business and uses Premiere as well, when he gets that error he'll delete the already existing video previews and conformed audio files and it works. I can't confirm or deny that, since I've never ran into this problem.

Does that mean to delete it off the timeline? O.o

No; in Windows Explorer, find the directory that holds the actual preview files for your project and delete them.

Hmm, would that mean I have to re-render the timeline again?

Also, is it possible to create a new project with a different codec for the project settings and drag my current timeline into it, if I kept all other project settings the same?

Thanks guys for the help.

I'll give it a go with a different codec, see if that makes any difference.

Btw, which one of these would be best for me to choose for project settings:
