In Need of Upgrade, But...

Post by Syxhad » Thu Oct 11, 2007 8:25 pm

Well, I've made a couple of AMV's using WMM and... I realized that it just sucks. So I'm looking for a better program to use and I looked through the FAQ on the site but I have a problem. I've tried using Vegas and Adobe but... I couldn't figure out to use them. So I was wondering if there were more user friendly programs. Something that doesn't require so much knowledge of editing and technology jargon. Thank you for any help :)

Have you tried some of the other programs listed in the Software List sticky?

they both come with a nice manual when you buy them, that isn't helping?

To be fair, Adobe Premiere Pro's manual isn't as newbie-friendly as the ones that came with the older versions were. I started with Premiere 5.1, and the first thing in that manual was the tutorial, without which I probably would have been pretty lost. After working through the tutorial, it wasn't hard at all to read through the rest of the manual and pick up the material.
In contrast, Premiere Pro's manual has no tutorial, IIRC.

Yeah, that's the thing, I wanted to know if there where other programs easier to use before I wasted money on them. My friend owns both Vegas and Adobe but he doesn't have the time to teach me.

Download and test out demo versions. Spend at least a week playing around to determine what you like best. And don't pay full retail when you end up buying. Like you can get a full version of Vegas 6 at B&H Photo for $99. And don't forget academic/student versions, you can get great deals. And if in college, check with your college to see if they can get extra special deals.
