Oh! My Goddess movie + VAST's "You" = Atmosferia

pasting from what I said in the video's entry, since I said it better there:

Originally, I'd planned for this to be a more surreal, more visual-oriented video... if that last part makes any sense. But, when I found that I couldn't submit two videos for the same category at the D*C contest, I tweaked my plans for this vid to make it more of a romance. However, having watched it more since then (rendering this thing for upload had issues), I'm not entirely sure how it fits in that category.

My main intent for this was to make something that matched the music as closely as possible. The Oh! My Goddess movie is a very atmospheric piece of animation, and I've always found this particular song to be a very atmospheric piece of music, so I thought they'd go well together. That, and the song is an unusual kind of love song, more about enduring dedication and devotion than overwhelming emotion. It's more about being in love than falling in love, which fits Keiichi and Belldandy very well.

Over the course of the video's construction and the tweaks to the script I'd made, it became more of a "story summary" vid than I really wanted it to. But in the end, I'm okay with that, as my true focus is still on making the visuals match with the music, to capture some of the same feeling. In the end, it might not have something to say but it does have something to show, and I'm happy with how it turned out.

I doubt anyone will notice, but this is the song that played at the end of the last part of The Utena Symphony, an AMV series I made last year.

As always, thank you for watching. Comments and opinions are always welcome.
