.. hehe, everybodies slowly returning 8-)

.. the only things that have changed here are the Codec's we are now using.

,, ready?? .. MP4 is good. .. OGM is dead. .. MKv is now a standard. .. H.264 is a working codec along with that buggy X.264 .. Editors have changed to Sony Vegas.

the newest FDDShow Actually Works ^___^ and is tuned to VirtualDubMOD 0_o

if your Primiere 6.0 can work with the newest FDDShow and CCCP codec's then your looking good ^_^ .. the audio need not be AC_5 -- regular joint-stereo at 48k@192k is fine.

.. the one thing that has changed is the Image size -- its now 704 X 396

.. things we've lost .. MGI and AiST products are no longer available .. AVS Editors actually are now worth having .. the Single and Dual Line/Layer Editors are still useless .. The days of Rotating Images are all but forgotten .. VCD.help.com and Doom9 are known now for their Forums and not for Software anymore.

Personally I use magix. Its not exspensive and works well. But most of the better vids I have seen were done with Vegas or Premier.

if premiere 6 works for you then there really isn't any reason to update
IIRC CS3 is fairly demanding when it comes to system requirements...and all it really does is handle HD video (compared to premiere pro 1 and 1.5)
