Well, the first AMV that appears on my self-authored VCDs was Maboroshi's Information High video, which doesn't have an entry on here, although it is in the Vault:
http://www.umbrellavideo.com/vault/maboroshi/
The disc it's on is marked as VCD #2, and dates from June of 2002. There were some other videos here and there that I know of prior to that that I'd seen, but I didn't care about them too much if at all. I remember I had a bitch of a time trying to convert that damn video into a format that my DVD player didn't want to choke on and die attempting to play, but I don't know what exactly the issue was now (nor do I have the interest to check). Somehow I got it figured out, though.
There's lot of the 'classic' videos that I got ahold of during that summer, though. Mostly off of P2P, and whatever working links I could scavenge once I found the Org (as at that point in time, the Golden Donut - or Dangling Carrot - didn't exist, or at least not formally like it has since March or April 2003).

Man, I still remember it clearly. I don't know if they're uploaded here, but all of the very first AMVs I watched can still be found here (http://www.tenchizone.com/) to this day.
Basically various Tenchi AMVs, most of them featuring Tenchi and Ryoko's relationship with a couple exceptions.
While a bit subpar by today's, and my, standards, I'm still grateful that the very first AMVs I watched were quality creations, so I dodged a bad impression.
I still go back and watch them every now and then for nostalgia's sake.
