VLC question...

Post by Krisqo » Fri Nov 23, 2007 12:19 am

I watch all of the AMVs I download on VLC and its one of my favorite programs. But I've been noticing something strange recently. All the videos seem to be too bright. I took one of mine and almost half the video was so bright it was almost unwatchable. The funny thing is, I went and played the same video in Windows Media player and it looked fine. Hell... for shits and giggles I loaded the video into Nero Showtime and took a screen cap and guess what... the cap looked fine, the playing video was too bright.

And ideas what's happening here? It's not my monitor because I played with all the settings one day and it didn't help at all.

Are VLC's video settings at default? Settings > Preferences, expand the Video > Filters > Image adjust options and check if any of the properties are higher than the defaults (hue is 0, all else is 1).

It might be related to your video card drivers. You wouldn't happen to have an older nVidia video card/chip?
