finally got around to watching this.
And I gotta say I really like it, in both concept and execution, I don't think the intro was long but then I haven't seen the anime so I needed the extra info.
It's quite and intreguing little vid you've made.
I do have a question tho, did you add the music in the intro or is that in the anime?
like the bachelor girl song says "I walked under a bus and got hit by a train, and it felt so good I want to do it again"

I have no idea why people like this concept. At first I was going "oohh, interesting, would this concept be going to the same direction as my TGWLTT Iron Chef-video?". But then, the guy pops up, they walk to a door, he says that her path cannot be changed and then she dies for real. What's the use of that?
The question asked in the beginning, what would you do if you knew you would die today, does not get explored at all. The most important scene, WHY her path couldn't be changed was done really really bad, I could not find a scene between that would explain me why.
This video could've explored:
- what she regret not doing during her lifetime (because there's still so much to see - especially at that age)
- what she was sorry of doing (either why her life was going downhill or things like moments she regret doing)
- what could be after life (a second chance maybe?)
...and probably a lot of other things could be the theme of this video, but her process of thoughts and feelings, which you saw at the beginning got lost along the way (either through text or scene selection).
On a technical side, please watch your orientation: a simple use of horizontal flipping would do the trick sometimes. For example, the scene where he shows the nut could've used that: now there's a slight confusion in whos hand it is. (and not to mention that scene that is wrong in the movie itself and you - and everybody else - also took over)
Also, the text looked too "actiony" for me: the way of appearing and the font used didn't contribute to the feeling of the video.
So nice try, I like the wings and the fact that you tried to tell a linear story, but that's it. It could've been so much more, but it's not. It's like telling somebody your friend died, but not telling how it affects you and how you feel. It's too bad, I really wanted to like it.

Well,I most agree with what Douggie said. It's an interesting concept with very nice editing but it gives you the feeling of "wtf".It begins with very good prospects, the song is quite fitting for the atmosphere you wanted to create but the whole "follow me,see what you did,now die cause you or I couldn't change your fate" is a bit meh...
Still,it deserves a decent 4/5 since it was original(I've seen the movie and liked how you manipulated it),had nice FX and editing as well as cool wings.

Well, I guess I am keen on killing female anime heroines. xD Glad to hear the intro was useful.ScorpionP wrote:Very original concept and well executed, but the ending was a bit rushed
(I don't know about the others but the long intro was useful to me because I didn't watch the show)
Yes, the story doesn't have much in common with the story of the anime. Thanks!Kael_ wrote:Good video.
I think you created a new story, but I have not seen the original movie to be sure of that.
It's interesting to watch, the 4 minutes are spent quickly for my part.
Good job, I like it, 4/5
An editor always feels good when others call their videos "amazing". ^^ The sideview of the wing was indeed the most concerning part. Maybe I should have avoided that scene. Too late now anyway. As it seems the bigger part of the audience prefers the classical "happy end". I am more of a fan of the sad endings. Thanks again for participating in the beta test.CodeChrono wrote:I've seen the beta of the video and I was impressed with the video itself.
My critique:
The video quality was quite amazing. I don't think there was any error in that.
The concept of the video was well executed. I loved the theme, and I loved the text displaying the theme. The wings attached to the guy (in my opinion) were hawt stuff until he was walking down the school hallway. I think that it could have been tighterly synced with him. I was also slightly dissapointed with the ending (but that's just me). I was hoping that maybe she could have been given a second chance? Nah! ^_^
It was an appropriate length to tell the story, and I believe this video was very well executed.
4.25/5.00

Glad to hear it.simofc90 wrote:strange video but i like it 4/5
The music in the intro is from the anime. The only thing I added were the distortion effects after she begins her flight (wheeeeeeeeee). A little extra bass sounds are added at the end of the scene too.Autraya wrote:finally got around to watching this.

The thing I wanted to tell with this video is that you do not get a second chance in life. In-depth exploration of such hard questions regarding the essence of the life is not a thing that fits in an AMV imo. The questions in the beginning are used mainly to help the viewer enter the atmosphere. Not every question that pops up in our head has an answer after all. About the orientation in the scene where the Angel shows the "nut" - this scene actually is flipped around the Y axis. Note that when the girl gives him the "wtf o_O" look she is standing in the right side of the screen. When he shows her the "nut" in his hand he is standing in the left side of the screen. The only confusing thing might be the fact that the feet of the people around him are in the wrong direction. Still I'm glad to hear you liked some aspects of it.Douggie wrote:I have no idea why people like this concept. Sorry for not living up to your expectations.
Sadly, I don't think I could have avoided that. Thanks for participating in the beta test. ^^Kevmasterflashdeluxe wrote:Great for one watch, but I doubt I'll ever watch it again.
Thanks for the high score although you disliked the concept! that was an interesting one. At a first time i thought that i downloaded anime (wtf?), but then i understood the concept.
hmm... even if the part before 2:35 is quite simple, i liked it the most.
wings, whoa, "i'm your angel... you're dead, blah-blah-blah" I actually thought that the angles should protect and not tell you that.
P.s. i def. need to watch the anime.

Cool video. The mood was pretty right with the song.
Though, I thought the video was ended pretty early. I can't remember if someone here already talked about how it was building up, but yeah. There was all that build up, but then nothing at the end. The video didn't even leave me hanging at the end. It didn't even feel like a complete build up, if that makes any sense to you. The wings were a nice touch, but I thought they were a bit unnecessary, if not corny.

I'm happy you enjoyed the video. If times goes fast, it means you liked it.omegaevolution wrote:hahaha I will be honest, the wings were indeed funny
but I liked it, its incredible how fast 4 minutes went through without much action (thats strange for me). Nice editing and it is indeed different from what I have seen in other AMVs with this anime, in some way. Nice work Funky, I enjoyed it
4/5
The idea I had was that angels can only look after you but can't change your fate. That's why the video's name is "No Fate". And yes, the anime is worth watching. Glad to hear you found it interesting. ^^dazedash wrote:that was an interesting one. At a first time i thought that i downloaded anime (wtf?), but then i understood the concept.

Yup, ppl have talked about the buildup already. Looks like I should work more on the emotional side of future projects. The wings added some individuality to the project, plus they really fit with the story, that's why I felt like doing them.Unlimited Rice wrote:Cool video. The mood was pretty right with the song.
