Other ones I like would be Yu Yu Hakusho and One Piece =O

Doraemon starting from 1979 and still running today, with over 2,000 episodes.

Simply put, the series is just awesome. The mere fact of the show still running today should be a sign to its popularity and success.

Depending on just how long you mean, then my favorite is Pokemon. No joke. depends on what you consider a long series though. Long makes me think 100+ episodes

Eh, I have a lot. But what got my attention was Eureka Seven, Naruto, and Naruto Shippudden. Eureka Seven because of the relationship between the characters and what they stand for, and the storyline. Naruto and Naruto Shippudden because of the storyline again, and the originality. It's extremely original compared to the other ninja shows out there.
