Like a story. When you listen to the mix, don't try to picture tracks flowing one after another, making no sense in relation to each other. Try to picture coherence, and a dramatic relationship between the tracks.meleechampion wrote:damn... I'm 14 mins in listening.... long <strike>cat</strike> mix is loooong. =D
edit(for clarity): How the hell is this going to work?

Does all of that have a border of rainbows and unicorns and butterflies around it? I'm trying to picture something like that, and it's all I can come up with.Greggus1 wrote:Like a story. edit(for clarity): I still don't see how you're going to get your editors to work together like that...

And I understand why you'd be concerned. The fact of the matter is, this is not a linear story we're trying to create here. It's a set of paralleling stories starring the same character under different forms. This means each editor can do his own thing, because these songs will tell you how to edit to them: That's what these videos we make are about. The mix we've made has been structured to produce something coherent, as long as the editors are editing in the general themes we want them to. And that's what the multiple deadlines are for: Checking the coherency of the entire project, and making adjustments on the fly.meleechampion wrote:Does all of that have a border of rainbows and unicorns and butterflies around it? Does that make it more clear?

I mentioned a few of the transitions still have to be smoothed over in that mix. They're corrected now, if you need to know. The end of St.Jimmy is supposed to be like that, we're thinking of implementing an idea there.Edit 2:.. First of all a lot of the transitions from song to song are REALLY crude. like from which ever to Nobody likes you is bad.. just cause it drags on in the fade, then the end of st Jimmy how it fades out for about.. 5-7 seconds. Idk, I haven't Listened to all of it yet and am at the 8:07 mark.. but already I can see problems with the mix. I think greggus said something about smoothing the mix out more, but it just ISN'T smooth really at all yet. It was smooth from city of the damed to I don't care.. but that's also how it is on the album.
You just proved you didn't read the first page. Because Greg or I never said that. In fact, I already stated that it's going to be cut out for you.Plus you said you were gonna have each editor cut their own segments out I believe? (And if I'm wrong then.. ok) but yah, The times that each segment takes place that you have down on the first post (Does that even make sense?) but yah. They don't seem all that accurate. So you'll prolly end up with mixed up times and possible little bits of time that go on without even getting edited to possibly. Although I realise the overlapping times and peopel editing to slightly more then they are supposed to can make for good transition.. still, ya know?
Anyways, the .wav version (and a corrected version of the .mp3) of the mix shall be provided in the next few days. Probably tommorow as I'm off from school.
<Stirspeare> Otohiko: You guys sure love dongs.
