I've been watching Death Note since YTV put it on on Friday nights.

It lives up the hype. And it's nice to see a series that does that, for once.

One thing I don't understand is that so far L and the cops haven't even discussed how Kira pulls off the killings. I don't even think someone has said anything along the lines of "Well, he can't be doing it with magic" (though I did miss at least one episode...). That came to me when L said he's figured out that Kira needs a name and a face to kill a person. Now that's an astoundingly accurate deduction. Assuming it's a deduction. I'd like to know just what iinformation he had to filter out to come to that conclusion. Otherwise it just seems like a big plot-handy non-sequitur...

L deducts that Kira needs a fece and a name based on the confrontation in episode 2. He later supports his theory based on the fact that criminals whose faces and/or names were not provided in the media, spelled incorrectly, or shown unclearly were spared. L simply needs to ask himself: What do these people have incommon? With L's superior deduction ability and his tendency to analyze everything, it isn't too wild a conclusion. L's secondary objective after finding Kira is to determine his method. He states this clearly in episode 2 at the end of the broadcast. "Of course, I am very curious as to how you are carrying out these murders, but I guess I'll just have find out when I'm interrogating you." He shows great interest in it because it is something that he cannot explain. This is made inheritly obvious in a later episode when he is observing a certain person who he believes is Kira. "Now, show me your method!"

It really surprised me to see L joining the same school as Light. I was not expecting him to do that. It really caught Light of guard when L revealed himself to Light. My prediction for the next episode or the one after is that when Light gets a dorm room, he will find L as his roommate.

The third movie is coming out soon. It's a prequel that focuses on L. Why the heck do we see Ryuuk and Death Notes in it?!

Can anyone figure out the lock combination to open the door?

Don't bother. It's nearly exactly the same as the anime, save for some minor changes in the end. Do read, however, the 109th special chapter.

This show is only getting better. The way the show is putting in all those twists and turns is amazing. But L is slowly beginning to tick me off with the way he acts.

Why is the 109th chapter better than the rest? I wouldn't know, as my local bookstore don't handle Death Note.

109th chapter was a one shot special that hasn't been officially translated yet. It happens after the events of the anime and manga.
